Frequently Asked Memorial Questions

Question: Do your monuments come with a warranty?

Answer: Yes, all of our granite cemetery monuments are warranted for life. Our warranty covers both the granite itself and the labor to repair or replace the granite if it fails. A copy of our warranty can be viewed or downloaded by clicking here.

Question: Why not buy a memorial online on amazon or the like?

Answer: There are over 3500 cemeteries in Tennessee and each one has varying restrictions, regulations and requirements.  It is impossible for an online retailer to sell a memorial and assure you that it will meet your local cemetery requirements.  This highlights the consumers’ need to work with an experienced, local, reputable company to ensure that the memorial that is purchased will be accepted by the cemetery.  At Schultz Monument Company, we work with all cemeteries in Middle Tennessee and we are familiar with the different requirements of each.  We will ensure that a monument purchased from us will meet the requirements of your chosen cemetery.

Question: Why not buy from the cemetery?

Answer: Many cemeteries sell memorials where most cemetery staff do not have the training that is needed, and only sell on a part-time basis. Unfortunately, some cemeteries insinuate that you must purchase the memorial from them or, if it is purchased elsewhere, there is no warranty. In most cases, the quality and warranty from a reputable monument company are better than those offered by the cemetery.  Every memorial purchased from Schultz Monument Company is warranted against defects in the quality of the material, the quality of our workmanship, and the installation.  A copy of our warranty can be viewed or downloaded by clicking here.

Question: How much do they cost?

Answer: We find that most people are not familiar with the cost of a memorial. We are careful to be transparent on everything we do. Single markers start at $395, single uprights start at $850, companion markers start at $700, companion uprights start at $1300. Bronze single markers start at $970, and companion markers start at $1600. There are many options available and pricing depends on size, finish and materials. It is important to compare “apples to apples” when comparing prices. Granite and marble are like wood or diamonds, there are many different grades. At Schultz Monument Company, we strive to keep our overhead as low as possible so that we can pass those savings on to you.

Question: Do you have to wait for the grave to settle?

Answer: No, most graves are large enough to accommodate a concrete foundation above the burial.
